Quick Tip #3

When leaving a voicemail for a client, vendor, potential client, or anyone for that matter, remember to state your name and phone number at the beginning of the message, your purpose in calling, the best time to reach you, and repeat your name and phone number slowly at the end of the message.

I have received many messages over the years from people who drag on and on with their messages. With my current voicemail service I use, I can’t access any message over 5 minutes. If you have dragged on and on, I may not be able to call you back because I won’t know who called or what number to call back.

Since you do not know the length that a person’s voicemail allows them to have for messages, try and keep your message to one minute and under.
